Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

Insect control is accomplished in a number of ways. As a component of a complete management plan, insect monitoring is vital to the success of any pest management program. The IPM approach will provide superior control and greatly limit the amount of pesticides used in your landscape. A comprehensive program is performed based on the principles of integrated pest management. This program is designed to provide regular inspections and treatments for all or part of the landscape. The main goal of this program is to maintain pest populations below levels that affect plant health while minimizing reliance on chemical insecticides. That is to say, pest populations may be at levels aesthetically high but not at a level damaging to the plant. After each inspection and treatment is completed, a detailed report is submitted explaining the results of the inspection and treatments applied. The advantage of this program is realized by the reduced amount of pesticides used and the comprehensive nature of treatments provided.
